Session Chart
Minute candles for an index, F&O stock or MCX commodity with every number the app has drawn on them — the dealer-positioning levels at their prices, the session's context and the read on the legend lines, the auctions shaded, the day's events marked.
What the Session Chart shows
One-minute candles of the index, stock or MCX commodity you pick, with everything the app knows drawn on the chart itself: the call wall, the put wall, the pin, the gamma flip, the expected-move band and the session VWAP at their prices; the open, the previous session, the day's range, max pain and the hedge flow as quiet lines; the open-interest bars beside the candles; the auctions shaded; the day's events marked along the top; and three legend lines at the top-left — the bar under the cursor, the session's positioning context, and the read. The read asks one question of every candle: which way does the backdrop lean right now, and do its parts agree — and it lists the reasons rather than hiding them.

How to read it
- All, Selected, Hidden — the switch at the chart's top-right sets how much the chart shows. All shows every legend line, every line on the chart and the full key. Selected shows only what you pick: press the sliders button beside the switch and tick what you want, from each number on the legend lines to each line on the chart. Hidden leaves the candles, the call wall, the put wall, the pin, the gamma flip and VWAP. The chart opens on All on a wide screen, Selected on a laptop or tablet and Hidden on a phone, and remembers your choice for each screen size in this browser.
- Zoom — the three buttons at the chart's bottom-right zoom out, zoom in and reset. While the newest candle is on screen it stays where it is and the candles grow toward it; reset shows the whole chart again with the prices fitted. The mouse wheel or a pinch zooms too, dragging moves the chart sideways, and dragging the price axis on the right stretches the candles up and down (reset undoes that as well). Your zoom stays while new candles come in. Drag or zoom out past the oldest candle and the sessions before it load on their own, up to twenty.
- Your lines — press the line button beside the zoom buttons, then click the chart where the line goes: a horizontal line at that price, with the price on the axis. Drag a line to move it; click it and press ✕ (or the Delete key) to remove it. Your lines stay on that index or stock in this browser, at every detail level.
- Moving averages — the chart-line button beside them switches on EMA 9, 20, 50 or 200, each in its own colour and named in the key. They count the chart's bars, so EMA 20 on 3-minute bars covers an hour; an average needs that many bars before it starts, so show more sessions for EMA 200. They are lines to read the trend against, not signals.
- Leans up / Leans down · agreement — the lean of the backdrop and how much its parts agree (0–100). Agreement rises when the parts point the same way and volume confirms; it falls near the gamma flip, in the first fifteen minutes, into the close and on expiry afternoons.
- Candles that carry the flow — solid body = the current-month future's open interest rose during the bar (a long build-up on a green bar, a short build-up on a red one); hollow body = open interest fell (short covering on green, long unwinding on red); brighter colour = volume above the session's median. Hover a bar for its volume, OI change, build-up and the read's lean at that time.
- The three legend lines — top-left, over the chart, each labelled with its time. BAR is the bar under the cursor — its prices, volume against the session's median, futures OI change and build-up, basis, and the straddle's expected move to expiry. SESSION is the positioning context as of the collector's last minute: the gamma regime and net GEX, the pin, put-call ratio, ATM implied vol, futures OI and its day change, futures volume, dealer delta, expiry and the sessions left, the corridor, concentration, vanna and charm. READ is the read: its lean, agreement and sentence, with a chip per reason (hover a chip for the full reason). The things that change a decision are badges — the build-up, heavy volume, the gamma regime, a strike that is pinning, expiry day — and green or red chips carry the direction of an OI change and the lean.
- What happened, minute by minute — small marks along the top of the chart replay the options-activity ranking and the flow reads through the day: a strike-side trading four times its usual five-minute volume, or a strike-side whose open interest moved three percent in one bucket, with the read the flow page gives it. Hover a mark for the time and the fact. Facts with a time, not directions. Pick a past session and a span of up to twenty sessions from the controls.
- The auction windows — the shaded band before 09:15 is the opening auction. From 09:00 its faded candles show the price the auction points to so far (the indicative price), minute by minute: an index moves with the orders until order entry closes, around 09:08–09:10, then holds at the price the bell opens on; a stock shows the one price its auction matched at. Nothing trades until 09:15, and these candles stay on the chart after the bell. The band carries the previous close, the implied open and the gap the bell printed, with the 09:30 verdict once it is in. The band from 15:15 is the closing auction — the index stops updating at 15:15 while closing orders are collected, the auction reprints it in one step around 15:30 (the candle that jumps off the flat line, marked with the print and its divergence from futures-implied cash), and futures trade on to 15:40.
- The lines — call wall (red) and put wall (green) are drawn bar by bar, so you see where they moved through the day; the pin (amber, dashed) the same way, and the gamma flip as a purple dotted path that follows it through the day; each current level is named on the price axis. The grey band is the day's share of the straddle's expected move from the open — the straddle prices the move to expiry, and one session gets that over the square root of the sessions left. Dotted lines carry the open, the previous session's close, high and low, the session's high and low, max pain, the hedge flow desks would trade at half a percent either way, and any strike you set an alert on. While the market is open, a tag under the live price counts down the time left in the forming bar.
- The reasons — every read lists what drove it — regime, walls, pin conviction, futures OI build-up, VWAP, stretch from the open, implied-vol drift, charm into expiry, volume and the clock — so nothing is a black box.
- MCX commodities — a commodity's chart is its future's minute candles from 09:00 to MCX's close, with per-strike OI, PCR, ATM IV, max pain and the day's volume bursts; it has no auctions and no read.
