What Trending OI shows

Open interest momentum across the strike ladder, broken into intervals through the session, for index and stock options. Instead of one snapshot of where open interest stands, each row is a slice of time: how much call and put OI was added or removed in that interval, which way the change is pointing, and whether price broke the day's high or low while it happened.

How to read the columns

  • Chng. In Call OI / Chng. In Put OI — open interest added or removed on each side during that interval. Positive on the call side with negative on the put side is a bearish lean, and the reverse is bullish.
  • Diff. in OI — the two sides netted against each other, so one number tells you which way the interval leaned.
  • Direction of chng. — whether the buildup is accelerating or fading compared with the previous interval — a large build that is slowing matters less than a smaller one that is growing.
  • Strength and Sentiment — the size of the interval's move scored against the session, with the resulting read spelled out.
  • Net PCR — the put-call ratio recomputed per interval, so you see it moving rather than as a single closing figure.
  • Level Break — flags an interval in which spot broke the day's high or low, which is how you tell a level that broke on fresh positioning from one that drifted.
