Trending OI Screener

Trending OI's Day Strength and Flow for every F&O stock, refreshed every 30 seconds — where option positioning is most one-sided right now.

What the Trending OI Screener shows

Trending OI's two readings, Day Strength and Flow, for every stock in the F&O segment at once, refreshed every 30 seconds while the market is open. Day Strength sizes how far each stock's option positioning has tilted since the previous session's close, across the ten strikes either side of its price, with dots for how one-sided that change has been. Flow reads only the last fifteen minutes, so a build from the morning can't pass for pressure now. Sort and filter to find the stocks where open interest is moving most one way, and open any stock to see its readings through the day.

How to read it

  • Day Strength — the change in put open interest minus the change in call open interest since the previous close, as a share of the open interest on those strikes. Fresh put writing leans bullish and fresh call writing leans bearish, so a green +9% means puts have been added well ahead of calls, a red −9% the reverse. The dots say how one-sided the change has been: one dot when 30% of the movement points one way, two from 40%, three from 60%.
  • Flow — the same one-sidedness, strike by strike, over the last fifteen minutes only. A grey Quiet means too little open interest moved to score. 'Warming up' means fewer than fifteen minutes of readings exist yet, as in the first quarter hour after the bell.
  • Unwind — calls and puts both shed open interest over the last fifteen minutes: positions are being closed, not built, so the build-up reading doesn't apply.
  • The filters — Direction keeps the bullish or the bearish Day readings. The dot buttons set a minimum for Day and for Flow; a Flow minimum leaves out Quiet and warming stocks. Flow agrees keeps the stocks whose last fifteen minutes point the same way as their day so far. Search finds a stock by its symbol.
  • Strikes and series — each stock is read across the ten strikes either side of its price, so a big stock and a small one compare on the same footing. From four days before a monthly expiry the screener reads the next month's series, because that is where positions are rolling to.
  • One stock's day — click a stock for its readings every three minutes since the open. Open in Trending OI takes it to the full page, with the chart, your own choice of strikes and past sessions.
