Most traders learn the option chain from scattered clips: a column here, a strategy there, never in an order that builds. This option chain course puts OIData’s 21 tutorial videos into that order. Each lesson is one page of the app, explained on screen in two to six minutes, about an hour in all. The course starts with the Option Chain itself and open interest, moves on to futures and single stocks, then to how options price movement, then to dealer positioning and gamma, and ends with the pages that frame the trading day. Each lesson below says what it teaches, links the video, the page and an article to read alongside, and every video also has a short version of under a minute.

Who this option chain course is for

It assumes you know what a call and a put are, and not much more. If open interest itself is new, read what open interest is first; it takes ten minutes. The lessons explain what each panel shows and how to read it; they do not tell anyone what to trade. They are filmed on the app as it looked after the close on 5 October 2026, so the numbers on screen are that day’s.

All 21 lessons sit in one YouTube playlist, the short versions in another, and the tutorials page lists them by the app’s menu groups.

How this option chain course is organised

Six modules, each building on the one before. Watch a lesson, open the page next to it, and read the matching article when a concept needs more room than a video gives it. The option chain course starts narrow, with one table, and widens step by step to the whole market’s positioning.

The OIData tutorials page: the heading OIData tutorials, a line saying every page is explained in a few minutes with a short version for a quick look, and the first group, Today, with video cards for the Dashboard, the Session Chart and Market Mood, each with its length, a Watch on YouTube link, its short version and a link to open the page
Every lesson on one page. The OIData tutorials page lists every video by the menu group of its page. What you can read on your own after the option chain course

By the end of module 1 you can open any chain and say where the walls are, whether they are growing or shrinking today, and what the build-up stripes mean at each strike. Module 2 adds the same reading for futures and for single stocks. After module 3 you can say how much movement the market is pricing to expiry and whether options are dear or cheap against their own history. Module 4 explains why some days trend and others pin, through the hedging of the dealers on the other side of the market. Modules 5 and 6 frame the day around all of that: the open, the close, the mood, who is positioned where, and which dates move the calendar. None of it tells you what to trade; all of it makes what you see on a screen easier to read. That is the whole aim of this option chain course.

How to get the most out of the course

  • Watch with the page open beside the video. Pause on each panel and find it on the live page; the numbers will differ, the layout will not.
  • Do the modules in order the first time. Lesson 11 makes far more sense after lessons 1, 8 and 9.
  • Use the short versions to revise. Each lesson has a version of under a minute that names the page’s main panels.
  • Read one article per lesson. The videos show where things are; the articles explain why they behave as they do.
